No writing... no manual entries.
The Reporter R1, our Windows-based Handspring Visor Pro, makes it easy to report your in-room bar consumption without writing, transcribing, adding, or doing other manual entries. Using the Handspring Visor Pro hand held PC, the Reporter R1 permits data to be downloaded into your PC database using a cradle, from which any invoice, reports, etc. can be generated. With the optional thinmodem, it is possible to send the information to a PC using any hotel telephone.
How it works:
- When the hotel's minibar attendant goes into a room to check the in-room bar, he/she selects the room number on the Visor screen, and the menu appears. Using the scroll-down bar, the bar attendant indicates the items consumed, by touching the screen, indicating the quantites. The information is saved in a daily file, by room number.
- At any time when checking the in-room bars, (such as per floor, or after a certain number of rooms), the bar attendant can transmit the information to a PC by connecting directly into a PC or with our wireless option (DOD SR DW). This creates a database from which the bar system can be managed.
- This system facilitates consumption reporting, and reduces the number of errors over manual entries. The process is all done electronically. As an example, the hotel inventory can be entered into the PC, and consumption used to automatically adjust it. Invoices of consumption per room can be printed from the PC. The database also permits any report required by management, such as consumption per item, per floor, per day, per week, etc. The information can be sent directly to the customer's bill via a PMS interface.
- The Reporter R1 system can be part of the DOD SR1, or it can be operated separately, without the DOD system.
